FCC: McDowell Can Vote on AT&T-Bellsouth; (AP) Posted by Jake on Tue Dec 12, 2006 at 16:47:11
It did not attract a lot of media attention, and in fact I did not catch it until today, but late Dec. 8, the general counsel of the FCC ruled that a commissioner who had recused himself from considering the AT&T;/BellSouth merger could participate in the deliberations and vote on the deal.
The merger has implications for net neutrality.
Here is what the story said, in part:
You can read Feder's decision in PDF format at www.FCC.gov.
McDowell's statement, in which he urged the four other commissioners and AT&T; to work together to resolve the issue, is also available at FCC.gov.
Finally, Martin's statement can be read at FCC.gov as well.
